Kamada Ekadashi – 27 March 2018
Kamada Ekadashi is a religious spiritual sacred Hindu day. It can fall on a different date every year. The date is determined per the Hindu lunar calendar. It is observed on the 11th day of moon of the fortnight. It falls inthe waxing moon phase. This auspicious phase phenomenon is called Shukla Paksha. Every year, Kamada Ekadashi falls in the period March-April per the Gregorian calendar.
This Kamada Ekadashi is the first Ekadashi in the Hindu New Year. This Kamada Ekadashi falls in the first Chaitra Hindu month of year. The Hindu New Year began on the 18th of March 2018.
Zoroastrian New Year began the 20th of March 2018. Bahai calendar New Year also the 20th of March. In many different parts of the world, New Year starts in the March-April time.

On Kamada Ekadashi, Lord Krishna is worshiped. Lord Krishna is also an avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Kamada means grant and fulfillment of natives’ desires. It also means forgiveness towards any sin. Lord Krishna is worshiped for his blessings towards this. Ekadashi means eleven.
Many devotees observe fast, Vrat. The devotees bathe early in the morning. Then they perform prayers to Lord Vishu and-or Lord Krishna. Many devotees visit temples. Many devotees chant Vedic Mantras.
